Product Description
Ball mill grinding equipment is an important machine widely used in many industries, mainly used for crushing and grinding materials. Its core part is a horizontal cylinder with grinding bodies (such as steel balls) inside. When the cylinder rotates, the grinding bodies collide and rub with the materials under the action of inertia and centrifugal force, thereby grinding the materials.According to the grinding method, ball mills can be divided into dry and wet types; according to the discharge method, they can be divided into grid type and overflow type.
Application scenarios of ball mill
Mining: In the beneficiation and ore grinding of metal ores and non-metallic ores, ball mills can efficiently grind raw materials into the required particle size to meet the needs of industries such as metallurgy and building materials.Cement industry: Ball mills play a key role in cement production. Features of ball mill:
1. The ball mill is an efficient grinding tool which grind various types of material into fine powder.

Ball mill grinding process
Raw material crushing: crush the bulk raw materials to make their particle size meet the feeding requirements of the ball mill. This step is to improve the grinding efficiency and product quality of the ball mill.
Ball loading and proportioning: according to production needs, steel balls of different diameters are loaded into the ball mill in a certain proportion. The proportion and loading amount of steel balls will directly affect the grinding effect and product quality.
Grinding operation: start the ball mill, and drive the mill drum to rotate through the motor, so that the steel balls and raw materials collide and rub in the mill drum so that the raw materials are gradually ground into powder. During the grinding process, the speed of the ball mill, the feeding speed, and other parameters can be adjusted as needed to achieve the ideal grinding effect.
Working Principle for ball mill:The ball mill has rotating cylinder that is mounted horizontally and is controlled (driven) by an outer gearwheel. A quill shaft uniformly transfers the material to the grinding chamber. The chamber consists of different specifications of steel balls such as ladder linear and ripple linear.Rotation of the horizontal cylinder creates centrifugal forces which elevates the balls to a certain height where they fall back, grinding the materials. The ground material is then discharged.

The grinding drum liner is a protective layer covering the inner wall of the grinding drum of the ball mill to protect the grinding drum from wear and chemical corrosion of the grinding balls; it is usually made of wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant materials, such as high-chromium alloy steel, rubber or polyurethane.
Grinding balls are usually made of steel balls or ceramic balls, and their size and material selection are determined according to the hardness of the material and the grinding requirements. The general diameter is between 20-125mm, and the super-large ball mill can reach 130-150mm.

Gypsum grinding production line
1. Crushing: Large gypsum raw materials are first crushed by a jaw crusher, and then further crushed by a cone crusher or an impact crusher until they reach a feed fineness that can enter the grinding mill (usually 15mm-50mm).
2. Grinding: The crushed gypsum pieces are sent to the silo by an elevator, and then sent to the grinding chamber of the grinding mill by a vibrating feeder for grinding. Different types of grinding mills can be selected for processing according to different product requirements.
3. Grading: The ground gypsum powder is graded by a classifier to separate gypsum powder of different particle sizes. Unqualified powder will be returned to the main mill for re-grinding.
